Hi

I have a brand new Narada 48NPFC50 Lithium Iron battery that was donated to me. Currently I have no use for it but would have loved to be able to use it in my camper to power the fridge lights etc etc.

Will this be possible and what will I need fro the setup. I also have 2 x 325 Canadian solar panels that I can use. Which charge controller inverter etc will I be able to use

Will it be worth it or should I just donate if and go for a 12v system

You would need a 48V inverter to begin with. I can't see how many cycles they can deliver, at what Depth of Discharge, but you're probably good for about 7000 cycles. And you would need an MPPT that can charge LifePo 4. Victron, Outback and Microcare are some brands to look for.

Recommended charge is 10 ampere. At 50V (or thereabouts, Li-Ion always slightly higher than lead acid), so 500W. At such low current, I suggest getting a Victron BlueSolar 150/35. It's cheap enough (compared to the others mentioned) and is known to handle Lithium batteries correctly. With the weak exchange rate, that controller is unfortunately around the 5k mark now, but it really is worth it spending a little extra. Outback is not going to be cheaper and the Microcare 20A LCD model isn't going to cost significantly less (and the BlueSolar has way better tracking and lower ripple).
