Hey everyone

I want to split my stove and geyser and some other plugs so they are not on the inverter

Does one get a EL that can take two inputs, one from Eskom and then one from my Inverter? I was hoping to replace the one I have now as the dub board is full with an EL that can take two red wires in.

I assume wit the EL one can use a single neutral bar and either circuit will trip EL should there be an issue?

my other issue is that I have thick wires to take to change over switch, and I can not fit two into the CB in order to split it to change over switch and the other one to the circuit that will not be in the backup solution. What can one use ?

Hi Coenie.

To the best of my knowledge you don't get a "dual EL".

No you cannot mix 2 different EL's neutrals on a common N bar.

Neither can you connect the neutral of a device which doesn't go through the EL, to the N bar after the EL.

What size are your db's supply breakers (street an in your house)? What is the current rating of your changeover switch? You cannot use a 32A changeover switch if you have a 55A supply breaker. If you install a 55A double pole supply breaker inside your db, you can use 10mm² panelflex cable which work easier. You also get very thin aluminium pipe/sleeves which you slide over the bare cable before tightening in a breaker. Otherwise you can use bootlace ferrules and a bootlace crimper.

Replace some of your breakers with the narrow type that does clip into a Samite rail. I think they are about 10mm wide
