Bigger circuit breakers on AC input.

Featured Replies

I have two 5kW inverters. So when power came back the combined battery charging and power consumption tripped the breaker on the AC input to the inverter. It currently has two 40A breakers. I have now decreased the AC charging current. Can I put higher current breakers on the AC input? On the attached image the breaker on the left tripped.

Those MCBs are the right size. Correct move to lower the charging value. After this you might think how can you reduce your consumption. You are exceeding what the utility would normally provide.

If you have space in your main DB think about using a smart switch that will have some loads switched off after power down of LS and switch on via phone when needed instead of coming on when power is restored. Geysers perhaps?
