Hello clever people :)

Setup at my dad's house, as a pure back system (no PV):

  • Growatt SPF 5000TL HVM-P
  • 2*Pylontech US2000+  (previously just one, just added the 2nd battery)


Issue:
While adding the 2nd battery I plugged in my laptop and opened BatteryView to see how things are working. Noticed an Overvoltage warning!
On downloading the logs, I see every time the battery charges, as it approaches 100% it is supplied with 54V (max should be 53.5V).
Issue remained after adding the 2nd battery, and also after updating the Firmware (v 500.12 and appropriate comms board FW (can't remember comms board FW version)).

First off, had I not plugged in BatteryView then I wouldn't even know that this is happening! Everything works perfectly, no indication of any issues, and it's by pure chance that after running on single battery for many months that I now see that in the background there has actually been an issue!

Settings:  05 - LI 2  (is this correct for Pylontech?)
Comms seem to be working correctly - battery shows as % SOC and the screen shows a solid LI icon.
For sake of clarity - I've installed BMS comms cable to RS485 on battery (BMS on inverter) with baud rate 9600.

Questions:
  1. I thought the BMS, presuming comms are perfect, would "set" the parameters, and limit the voltage the inverter is allowed to send. All other parameters do "seem" to be communicated correctly (max current decreases past 90% etc.), hence I'm surprised the BMS didn't limit the voltage.
  2. Setting 19: Bulk Charging Voltage is "hard set" to 54V - I cannot change this as Setting 2 is set to Lithium.  I have not yet tried to set battery type to user, then set 19,20 and 21, and then back to battery type Lithium - hope that'll maintain a set 53.5V?  (which to my mind should be communicated by the BMS anyways)
  3. Any other suggestions?
