Posted April 7, 20231 yr I recently installed a LuxPower SNA5000 and 2 Pylontech US3000C batteries for my father-in-law, and it's been functioning great. This week we added 4kW of PV, but for the life of me, I can't get the inverter to use solar as first priority, then battery and then only grid if the first two are not available. I'm used to a RCT Axpert MKS inverter which allows this, but this Luxpower has me stumped. Anyone out there with a similar setup and running it like I want to, able to share their settings? Thanks in advance. Edited April 7, 20231 yr by viceroy

Thanks in advance. You have to be in HYBRID mode to do the settings. Refer to working mode option. These settings are in a different area in the manual than the normal charge for bulk and float as well as the cut out level. Also check the timer where you have to set what times of the day grid can be used to charge. If there is solar then solar will be used 1st.
April 8, 20231 yr Author Aaah, saw that section in the manual, but couldn't see those options in the menu setup pages. I didn't want to enable hybrid mode as it looked like it was for grid export, at least according to the confusing screenshots and lack of wording. Will investigate. However, without going into that section it seems to be doing what I want by working with some of the main menu options. Not sure why the bms charge limit is at 0, was set to 70.

It's all fine if you get it to work fine. It is a very easy click to disable export. It is very clear how to disable it. If you are afraid of export just ensure you have a highish load exceeding the PV Watts on. Then there is no risk of export. Something like a hairdryer that has no thermostat to switch the device off.
April 20, 20231 yr @viceroy I am wondering the same, Please can you share your setting as I have the same setup but it's not using Solar as priority until I physically switch off the Eksom feed ?

The Bms charge limit changes depending on the batteries state of charge. The battery is at 100% so the BMS is telling the inverter that 0 Amps must be sent to the battery. The same applies for when the battery gets down to maximum DOD. The discharge current limit from the BMS will reduce down to 0 Amps.

Reason is a few guys could not wake up their batteries and had to take it to a dealer. If the BMS cut discharge to zero amps it will not get to such a deep sleep.

I recommend watching the installer trainings on YouTube. It goes a long way to help you fine tune. I'm not good at explaining but have used the video to get mine to do what I want it to do. Each morning pv takes over load from Eskom, charges battery and will blend with battery if sun is low. Battery will carry me into the evening and back to grid as set and so the next morning the cycle starts again. I love it. The training videos are great.
