  2. The reality is that Eskom is loosing this fight. They are the cause of there own demise. As Greenfields is saying. There are solutions but it is not in Eskom's and municipality's favor. That is why they want to implement illogical ideas. There revenue is slowly diminishing and they can feel it. It HURTS. I personally use Eskom as little as possible. Just go big enough to cut your reliance on Eskom to the minimum. By implementing load limiting they are also shooting themselves in the foot. This is how much I need them.
  3. https://shop.crystalcom.co.za/collections/sunsynk Try these guys. Very competitive prices and very professional and pleasurable service. I personally purchased from them.
  4. Try the Pylontech H2 Powercubes. I have the H2 batteries connected to a Goodwe 10 kW EHB inverter.

  6. It seems that Goodwe SA is of no technical support. I have a problem where Sems Portal indicates my LOAD (wattage) higher than what it actually is and the wattage that it is higher is missing on my charge going to the battery. I will be charging the battery at 2400 W but the graph only indicates 1200 W. The load will indicate 5000 W but the actual load is only 3800 W. There seems to be some calculation error on the server or from the server ( data from server). This problem started in April after the server went down with some ridiculous figures on the data. All the data from the past is effected and makes all the graphs and data useless. Here is an example: This is data from the past. It used to be correct but is now all useless. Look at the yellow line. That is the load. The load increases with the pv generation. Battery is charging because SOC is going up but with 0 Watts doing the charging. What the hell is going on. I am trying to get technical support from Goodwe SA but they cant see the problem. I assume they did not take math's as a subject at school. This is the graph with Current to battery. Next picture is Voltage to battery. ( Voltage is correct 250V ). Do you guys see the problem. The purple line on the top graph indicates 0 Watt charge to the battery but the current and voltage indicates that the battery is charging. How do I get SA support to get this sorted out. I'm Gatvol.
  7. Here is temperature speed controller for 4 pin pwm fans. https://www.banggood.com/ZHIYU-DC-12V-24V-48V-2-Way-Cooling-PWM-4-Wire-Fan-Temperature-Controller-Temperature-Speed-Display-p-1162516.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN Will be doing the install when fans arrive. This controller can handle up to 3Amp. Will run your 4 fans.
  8. The Bms charge limit changes depending on the batteries state of charge. The battery is at 100% so the BMS is telling the inverter that 0 Amps must be sent to the battery. The same applies for when the battery gets down to maximum DOD. The discharge current limit from the BMS will reduce down to 0 Amps.

  10. Sorry. You looking for a submersible pump.
  11. Get yourself one of these jojo pumps. https://www.jojo.co.za/products/1-5kw-vsd-booster-pump/ Pricey but worth it.
  12. Give us a 👍 if you are ready.
  13. Look at the beautiful sunny day here in KZN. PS. Can we volunteer on the Eskom app to be loadshedded ? 🤣 I'm ready. 10kW system 5 kW system
  14. I'm through municipality. The middleman.
  15. With all the highly educated bullS..t that are spread by Eskom and the motivations for this fixed tariff. Just think of it this way: If they want to charge you R938-00 fixed tariff (infrastructure uphold and maintenance), then when we as solar power producers, export to the grid as they propose, we should charge them R938-00 for infrastructure uphold and maintenance and then export kWh to the grid. It negates there argument. That seems to me to be a fair system. What do you guys think?
  16. You still looking for batteries? I have 8 x 2.4kWh Dyness B4850 batteries for sale at R10 000 each. Batteries was installed in July 2020. Still is use. SOH is 99%.
  17. Another reason for the 5 kw Goodwe Es inverter was that it was passively cooled. No fan noise.
  18. The 5 kw 48V inverter I installed in 2020. At that time there was not a lot of hybrid inverters available bigger than 5 kw. I was a complete noob when that project started. I discovered the limitations of a 5 kw inverter and the 48V system during that year to power my whole house. 2 mppt inputs (6.5kw max). I was at maximum capacity on the solar panels and that could not be expanded further. On the batteries, 8 x 2.4 kWh was technically the maximum as well. I could add more batteries but I was battling to get the 8 full during the winter months. Summer was not a problem. Then we get to the 5 kw inverter. The house draws 1000W on average , then the wife "starts" the deep fryer and the microwave and the inverter will restart due to overloading. That was annoying at times. We managed to get that under "control" LOL. So my plan was to upgrade to the newly released 10kW inverter, ( 4 x mppt 15000W max) but I could not use my old battery system. The new inverter uses the HV batteries as mentioned above and faze the 5 kw inverter and 48V batteries out over time. PS Try to sell your old system (12 months old) and try and recover at least some of the cash outlay to purchase the new system. Not many people that has 100K lying around for a second hand system. So this year Feb I purchased the 10kW inverter and added the 10 panels and 5 batteries with level 2 BMS in May. I was not sure if it was going to work with 1 inverter supplying the second. I tried it and it works fine. That is why I have both systems running currently. When the 8 x 48V batteries are down to 20% the 10 kw starts supplying the load. It actually works out nice. The 5 kw will supply its essential load up to 5 kw or the non essential side up to 5 kw. If more power is needed above 5 kw on the non essential side the 10 kw just supplements the rest. Now I can expand the system if needed. 3 mppts open on the 10 kw and the high voltage batteries can be expanded up to 6 stacks. In my voltage range for the inverter I can have 9 x 3,55kWh batteries in series = 432V = 32kWh. That can be expanded to 6 stacks of 32 kWh each. It removed all the limitations that was frustrating me. I hope that explains why 2 systems.
