May 4, 20233 yr Hi All Has anyone looked at optimising their inverter settings based on loadshedding and forecast weather? I've been working on optimising solar usage by automatically changing my inverter settings (charge from grid, use grid, use battery etc) in order to minimise Eskom usage. I'm currently integrating the loadshedding schedule, forecast weather / solar generation, estimate house load, battery size to determine the best settings in order to minimise Eskom usage while not running out of battery / solar power. My inverter is connected via an Esp8266 to Home Assistant, which allows me to get info and control settings on the inverter. Has anyone looked at anything similar? I'm still busy testing it - but so far seems quite positive. Would be interested to hear from anyone else that's looked at this? Cheers Techno
May 23, 20233 yr There are certainly plenty of people that have done the above. When I eventually get a inverter, this would be first on my list. https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/forums/smart-home-and-iot.316/#:~:text=Home Assistant %3A Q%26A%2C Tips %26 Tricks%2C Your Configs
