Nutlang
Hi Guys Totally a newbie here, so excuse my ignorance and stupidy beforehand I bought a 1500W Sun Magic inverter with internal charger connected to a 200a/h 12V Dsatk slim line Gel Battery..Suspect i will be paying "school fees" pretty soon on the battery.. Total cost around R5850.. I try and limit the DC voltage to not go below 12V as according to most this is when the battery is at 50% DOD ?; not sure.. My load connected to this is around 370W, consist of a 50" Samsung LED TV = 150W; soundbar @ 210W and then the router and fibre connection box... My question that I have is that on the inverter, when it cuts out, shows 14.2V, with my multi meter I get 12.8V on the battery... I suspect the multi meter would be more accurate ?? Thoughts ? A lot of these inverters are not accurate so I would trust the multimeter but to be 100% comper your multimeter with and friend one . The 50% dod is resting volts and not load volts so depending on the average load you can set your cut of volts lower than the 50% resting volts . An safe resting volts should be around 12.1, if your resting volts is 12.8 then your soc is around 85% . Edited June 4, 2023 by GMAC

SolarDIY
I would agree that the multimeter will be accurate so trust that. Nutlang
