Can anyone give advise on how to sonnect the pylontech UP2500 to Must pv1800 VPM inverter?

I use the USB port on my inverter to connect to Raspberry Pi, to use Solar Assistant.

What cable and ports do i use to connect the Pylontech to the MUST for BMS communication?  What type COMS cable do i use?

@RoannG i had a Must PV1800 previously but do not have it anymore as it finally died after years of faithful service.

My PV1800 inverter supported lithium batteries but it had no BMS communications built into it. So you just set the inverter to lithium in the battery choice and manually set the values the inverter will use to charge and discharge.

As for using it with Solar Assistant you require a USB to serial adapter and then the serial to custom RJ fitting depending on the model. you will find the pin outs for the custom cable in the battery's manual. Should be easy enough to get someone to change the serial plug over in any hobby electrical store.

I think that it's not limited only to the exact model they specified, as my MUST 3K 24V has the same firmware version they state in the table, but it's a different model.

I haven't had the chance to check compatibility though. I don't have a Pylontech battery (although there is a solution for batteries with the JK BMS like mine), but I'm planning to connect my two batteries to Solar Assistant anyways, as it can handle more than one battery for monitoring. Inverters usually can't handle more than one BMS communication.

As for the physical connection, You will need an RJ45 (Ethernet type) plug, with the specific CAN (and GND I suppose) pins connected.

I have done this according to the manual with the RS485 pins and it works fine. So I suppose CAN isn't any different (just need to wire the correct pins).
