upgrading pow-vm5k-iii inverter

Featured Replies

hello, after upgrading the firmware of my powmr 5k inverter it runs normally but after a while it gives fault with no number and continuous beep with 0 output 0 input, the flashed firmware was vm3.hex (axpert),any ideas about the problem ?

br,

I've heard of some firmwares doing a sort of "fault code 90 equivalent" that flashes U1 and the version number instead of a standard fault code. This seems to be designed to frustrate users who don't pay for firmware by buying legitimate (non clone) brands.

Does that fit the symptoms?

I get the impression that Must / Powmr have reasonable firmware update availability; perhaps try those if you can find them.

hello sir, i tried to contact powmr in order to send the firmware but they sent to me snmp web manager with an mib file instead which I am not familiar with, so I flashed the inverter with vm3.hex file 41.17 downloaded from the internet for axpert vm3 5kw,i will attach video that shows the problem after running normally for 5 minutes, if there is any trusted firmware that can solve my problem I will appreciate so much uploading it, thanks

* Does it behaves the same with 41.17 as it did with whatever original firmware it came with?

* Do you know what the original firmware version was?

I'm actually surprised that it flashed from an Axpert 41.17 firmware update file.

Edit: I do see suspicious code that is likely checking for legitimacy, and causing an unusual fault condition such as you see. The red light is presumably the fault light.

I need more time to analyse this. But it looks like it's Voltronic attempting to protect their firmware from being used by their competition (like PowMr) and undercutting them with their own firmware.

Presumably, you just need real PowMr firmware.

yes it behaves exactly the same with the new firmware, and fully functioning for 5 min before the fault appears, unfortunately I don't know the original firmware version,  am trying to contact POWMR for a new firmware in order to solve the problem .
