Connecting Pylontech US3000C batteries in 3 groups of 4 batteries - questions

Hi, Everyone.

I would like to ask you if you could help me with some questions on how to connect 3 groups of 4 x US3000C batteries without the LV-HUB (as written in the manual).

I have attached a drawing of my installation and I have the following questions:

1.What kind of Cable is used between the Master batteries from each group when using the RS485 option (blue cables in the right picture)? Standard UTP CAT5E (straight cable)? Not clearly specified anywhere.

2.There is no need for the LV-Hub, right?

3.Do I need to change the DIP switches positions for each group? It is clearly specified in the manual.

4.The blue cable to the inverter is the one coming with the longer DC cables (2m) where the ends are marked (battery and inverter)

Hi Usogard.

You are correct in saying that you don't need the LV hub for your batteries.

You can connect 16 US300C batteries together without the hub.

If I am correct all dip switches should be in the off position

The cable between the batteries is according to me a normal lan cable. These is only 1 master battery as indicated on the drawing you attached.

Cable to inverter will very according to the inverter.

You should parallel the battery-to- inverter cables every 5 (37A dischage per battery x 5 = 185A) batteries if you are using std pylontech cables. This gives you 185A/2 per cable, within reccomended std cable spec.

There will be 3 groups of 4 batteries, so there will be 3 master batteries.

Ok, I will use normal LAN cable to connect the master batteries together (B/RS485 from the 1st Master to A/CAN of the 2nd Master and then B/RS485 from the 2nd Master to A/CAN of the 3rd and the last Master). From A/CAN of the 1st Master I should go to the inverter.

I just wanted to know the cable type between the master batteries and you provided the answer.

You don't set it up like that.

You don't have 3 master batteries you only have one. You have one cable from the master battery to the inverter using the CAN port. Then all the other batteries are linked using the LINK 0 and LINK 1 ports. The master battery is the battery that has LINK 0 port empty.

That is the way for up to 16 batteries, after that you then do as you say. (The only exception would be if you are also using some none C type batteries and you have more than 7 of them).

Thanks for your reply, but let me explain you what was my idea. The chosen setup (with 3 Master batteries in the drawing) was because of the space I have. If you say I cannot have 3 master batteries, than I need 2 longer cables which connects the last battery on group 1, LINK 1 port, to the first battery on group 2, LINK 0 and the same from group 2 to group 3. Do you know what kind of cable is this (its configuration pins) so that I can either built it myself or buy it from the market. I would need 2 cables of about 1m length. The ones coming with the batteries are only about 20-25cm long.

I believe it works just fine the cable supplied with the cables from the batteries to the busbar, WI0SCAN35RJ3 (silver tag cable). I noticed it has all pins connected, 1 to 1, and it is the same as the short ones connecting the LINK ports.

However you do it you still need the longer cables.

They are just standard network cables. Straight through. Pretty sure one of the long ones in the Pylontech cable kit will work.

If you looked at the short cables supplied for that 0 - 1 link you can see from them what they are.

Yes, but if you are using std Pylontech cables you should still double up on the cables...
