I have an Axpert 5kva/4kw inverter that is behaving erratically. The inverter works fine when there is mains power and/or solar power. At night when load shedding starts, it works fine for like 45 minutes and then gets a fault code 03 (Battery voltage high) mostly. The battery voltage it reports is 19V (not high) and the measured voltage is 49V. I have to restart it by switching the battery on and of. Then it faults again after a few minutes often with the same code, but sometimes other codes. The measured values reported does not make sense. Can anybody recommend a good repair vender?

Hi Hennie, I have been involved with a similiar fault  over the weekend. Only in your case the battery reading is 19v instead of 120v I got from the one under my test. 

There is probably two reasons  for this fault, that is ether bad sensing resistors, or missing or bad - 12v rail supply. 

In either case you must dissasemble your machine, which will take some doing and time. Fortunately @Coulomb has compiled a walkthru, for which I will send you a link if you will want to go this route.

Hi Hennie , please find below link  which is @Coulomb disassembly and assembly guide . Please also refer to the connection diagram at the back of your Axpert service manual for additional information , and don't forget to take phone camera shots of your own disassembly in stages , which also helps a lot.

Once you have your main separated  , you can start performing test , initially with your multimeter  to test values of the battery sensing resistors . If they are still ok , you will need a 48v-60v variable current limited power supply to bring up the board standalone.
