August 10, 20232 yr Hi Just installed a used Alliance 3kw heat pump in good condition. The only issue I'm having is that when having it on a timer it starts up and heats up until 55 degrees as per setting. Thereafter the red light on the control panel goes off and it does not switch on again. It remains off unless you manually start it. According to my understanding of the temp diff setting, if the temp drops by 6 degrees for example, the unit still start again. This is not happening. What could be the issue?

I will take a flyer and say the temp sensor feeding the PCB could be correct but the logic on the PCB is faulty. After you switch off the input is reset and would run up to the set temp of 55. If you use a timer for switching off it should start each time the timer gives power to the whole heat pump.

What could be the issue? did u check what the differential temp settings are? also , can u post a pic of your control panel? my control panel does not have a red light...
August 11, 20232 yr Author Attached is the control panel. Temp diff setting is on default 6 degrees. It does switch on and off as per the timer. Eg 6am on and 6pm off. The issue is: It goes on at 6am as per timer on setting. It then heats up until 52 degrees and switches off. Once temp drops after usage to 35 degrees for example, it does not switch on again automatically at say 2pm for example. It should switch on based on my understanding of the temp diff setting. We have tried resetting at the mains and on the unit itself. No sensor errors showing. Thanks for the help
June 9, 20242 yr My water is not heating at all.after the power outage. The heat pump is running but I'm not getting any hot water. I've switched off the main power supply and on again but still nothing. Please help. It's the same control pad as above

It's the same control pad as above Feel if there is any hot water coming from the pump to the geyser along the hot water pipe. If hot at the heat pump it could be the feed pump faulty. They don't like grid in the water. Strainer is a must have. One of the short cuts installers take.
June 24, 20242 yr Hi there. I also just got the alliance heat pump but mine needs to be reset daily in order to heat up the water. Did you eventually get yours working properly?

Ensure on the controller that the timers are all off in order for it to come on as it should. Also place a pic of the controller to try and identify the controller in use.
July 22, 20241 yr Hi. I've got the exact same heatpump, exact same controller as shown in the photo and I'm sitting with the exact same problem. My heatpump is set to switch on at 3am and off at 8pm. Every morning at 3am it switches on (red light burning on control unit) and heats up to the set temperature. Once on temperature it switches off (red light goes off) but it doesn't switch back on when the temperature drops after using hot water like showering. I have to manually press the grey power button for it to switch back on. I'm not sure my marriage will last if I can't get this resolved. :(

My ITS has a fixed delta of 5 degrees drop below the set point then it switches on. Already in use for over 13yrs and just keeps on working as it should. If you have used hot water during the evening check if you switch the power off to the pump at say 8.30pm for 2 min and you switch the pump power on again if it does not start. Does the battery on the right hand show that it is still OK.
