Axpert 3000w Plus 24V - Lithium

Featured Replies

Good Afternoon

Please assist with settings.

Running 2x Revov 200AH Lithium batteries on Voltex 3000W Plus 24V  inverter.

6x 330W Canadian Solar panels 3s2p.

Inverter working very good, but I have set the output source to Solar First so as from 06:10 in the morning the inverter switches off the grid charge if PV is detected and run on the batteries till around 09:00 (draining the batteries), from 09:00 to 15:30 the batteries is charged via PV and the additional load is carried. From 15:30 to 18:45 it runs the load on the batteries again and drains it again until the PV is not detected, if there is load shedding from 18:00 - 20:00 it nearly depletes the batteries, and obviously after load shedding starts to charge the batteries again.

Please advise if there is a possible setting to eliminate this issue.

A way around this is to keep setting 16 on Util charging from 15h30 up to 09h00. This can only works if there is someone available tot change the setting 16.

This is what I used but it could only be done if I was at home. Part of the reason why I removed PV from my Axpert and found better use of PV connected to another inverter and using grid to charge just enough for my loads during the night. I have a very low load during the night so do not cycle my lithiums. I keep battery power for LS for the most essential loads.

By switching setting 16 to Util charging in the afternoon the loads will go to bypass and charging for use when required.

Not close to ideal 🤔🤔

The other method would be to use a externally MPPT charging te batteries directly. Then you can switch the grid on and off remotely via something like a Sonoff.

That's the problem with these cheap inverter there switch to utility is max 25.5v so if you use sbu it drains the battery before switch to untility if they made the max to 26.5 it would work perfectly with lithium on sbu .

If you use sol then by the time it's dark the lithium soc is low leaving not much for load shedding .

What I did is not perfect but it works and has been working for over a year now . I used SOL mode Installed an geyser timer and an high amp relay on the + pv cable , I set the geyser timmer to switch the relay to cut the pv volts early in the morning and later in afternoon . This meaning I don't drain the batteries when there is not enough sun to carry the load in the early morning and late afternoon .

With this method I go into the evening with 100% battery as on SOL mode if the inverter does not get volts from the pv it switchs to utility

There only 2 issues is

  1) as the season changes I have to change the time on the geyser timmer  .

2) warning if you set the timmer for the wrong time through the day when the pv are under load the relays will burn as there will be arking between the contact surface.

You could use MultiSIBControl if you kept a PC or laptop permanently connected to the inverter.

You can use the "Device Control" function and set up a routine to change between SUB/SBU/USB at set times of the day, on a schedule.

Good Morning

Will MultiSIBControl work with the AXPERT Voltex 3Kva inverter?

Yes it will.

The other option is to buy solar assitant. It has the energy control function. Not 100 perfect. But ive managed to get it set in such a way that the batteries drain about 5% only in gokden hour. And discharges to 40% only till 06:00 in the morning. Leaves a bit of a buffer if load shedding is early. Or cloudy weather.

Also gives you remote access.

If remote access doesnt bother. Old laptop with multisub. Or even a raspberry

Thank you so much for the assistance, will try it this afternoon

Good Evening

Will this setting be correct?

Looks good. If you want to be sure, I would set the on and off time to now and a few minutes from now and see if all executes correctly. If all goes well, set if for your real desired times and leave it.
