DEYE 5kw not pulling load from solar panels

Featured Replies

Morning All

I have just upgraded from 4 x Fivestar to 4 x Deye 5kw Inverters all in parallel

Setup is working perfect except for the solar panel connections, I have moved the strings from the 4 x five stars to the Deye's and they wont pull a load

strings are as follows per inverter

7 x 455w canada solar panels, string voltage 350v

Plugged into the Fivestar 8kw charges batteries no issue pulling around 1.4kw at the moment, change to the deye inverter voltage showing same 350v but will only get to 9w basically not pulling from the panels

Checked with another old axpert I have and they work perfect on that one too......

I am off grid no eskom

Whats the issue?

I would 1st connect only 1 inverter at a time to it's panels and to the battery with all other connection removed and see that each inverter will work with it's own panels.

Then add one more at a time while going the paralleling route.

This is a good troubleshooting mechanism - Also check your startup procedure - ensure the Normal light is on while running on batteries only THEN switch on DC

deye say they need a firmware upgrade

they will start to work  if i put 12 panels on a string at 480v but then it only pulls half the panel power around 2kw on a 4.5kw string

If i remove just 1 panel in the string the draw drops to 9w

tested on existing string and a new set of panels today
