September 4, 20232 yr Hi, my name is Ian and i have recently installed a Sunsync 5kw Inverter, hubble battery and solar panels. Maybe a stupid question, but is it better for the battery to charge from the grid or from solar exclusively, or does it make no difference?
September 4, 20232 yr It makes no difference to the battery. Obviously it's cheaper to charge from solar but nothing stops you from charging from grid on bad solar days.

It makes no difference if the Sunsynk are correctly setup it will do the charging automatically you don't have to worry about it if you have adequate solar production during the day it will keep your battery full as first priority and then use what is left to cover your loads. During overcast spells it will use grid to supplement battery and load.
