September 7, 20233 yr I have a 8kw inverter connected to a 10kw battery. I am missing out on much production at peak times, hence I want to install an extra battery. Can I connect a 5kw battery to the current setup or do I have to install another 10kw battery?

It depends Most manufacturers wont allow you to mix capacities; some do - so without knowing your actual setup it difficult to say
