October 26, 20232 yr just thought this might be interesting, bought 8x 48074h pylontech batteries, pulontech sc1000 bms and inverter about 9mths ago from a big supplier in Cape Town, recently the bms packed up and while it is away for repairs I bought another sc1000 from a different supplier which had an upgraded chip set, I sent the batteries in to have the firmware upgraded and was refused by the company because I didn't buy the bms from them, I think it is pretty disgusting but maybe I am out of line?
October 26, 20232 yr Did the batteries need to be upgraded? Edit, i've just seen your other post on the same subject. When you get the old repaired BMS back do you know if that would work if you have upgraded the batteries and the BMS has the old chip or they may just replace the bms with a new chipped version. You really need a proper discussion with the original suppler.. Is it actually the chip that's different or just firmware?? Edited October 26, 20232 yr by Tinbum
October 27, 20232 yr Author It would be great if I could discuss it with the original supplier but it has been an uphill battle as they don't appear to have any technical knowhow. As I am typing this the client has called and the batteries are being upgraded at present by the agents who also concur the supplier is totally out of line so I am pretty sure the supplier hasn't heard the last of this, but it does emphasize that you have to have a supplier with integrity and a product that has back up, just got to hope that when I get the batteries back they haven't bricked any of them
October 27, 20232 yr Author Got the batteries back with the new bms and clients waited 2hrs for the upgrade!!! Fitted them , no difference. Took a video and sent it to them , client still without power
