I have 2x Sunsynk 5kW inverters in parallel and I want to switch 'Solar Export' on during the day when I feel I have enough solar, so under load.

You set this on the master inverter and shortly thereafter it will sync to the slave inverter.

Is it OK to set and un-set this during the day when there is load and PV?

Interesting question. 

My gut feeling is it is OK as the inverter would just move the solar output from 1 port to the other. No break of the DC power taking place as would be the case when we want to switch off PV. 

It feels to me that it always takes a few seconds for the change to propagate between the two. That is what I am more concerned about.

Normally if it fakes time is because the system goes through a shutdown of services and starts with the new settings. The MPPT will then also start to find the Max Pow Trac Point. 

I notice that the slave takes some time to adopt the settings sent to it by the master. There is a delay in other words from the time the master reflects the change, to when the slave reflects the change. My concern is that in that delay, the master might raise its voltage to start feeding back to the grid while the slave doesn't do the same, would there be a possible flow back or imbalance caused by that?

 

Does anyone else do that on a regular basis without problems?
