January 9, 20242 yr Hi guys, Can anyone offer any specs or equivalents for the TVS diodes as per the photo ? Any Info would be much appreciated Kind regards Cuan
January 10, 20242 yr @Cuan Those seem to be BrightKing products. They don't make finding a part easy. You will have to download their part documents and look for the specific markings. I think the BHP will be the marking you look for. Its a mission. Edited January 10, 20242 yr by TheMac
January 11, 20242 yr Author Thanks for the feedback @TheMac. Some further investigation shows they are SMCJ160AC or SMCJ180AC. This may help other techs. https://www.digikey.co.za/en/products/detail/littelfuse-inc/1-5SMC180CA/715091. This seems to be comparable. If any one has replaced these, please share your thoughts ? Regards
January 12, 20242 yr @Cuan What fascinates me is the dirty look of the solder on those and the four what I can only assume are through-pins. Is that oxidation or did something burn in the area or the components themselves? Edited January 12, 20242 yr by TheMac
January 12, 20242 yr Author The 160V ones are probably a better fit, closer to the max input voltage of the MPPT board. https://www.digikey.co.za/en/products/detail/littelfuse-inc/smcj160ca/762443 Here's the listings from the Brightkey site. Maybe this will be useful info ? Regards Edited January 12, 20242 yr by Cuan
January 12, 20242 yr I don't have experience on TVSs but side-by-side those specs seem to match even dimensions seem to correlate. The BrightKing datasheet does not mention solder pad sizes but connector pins beneath do match in size. As a matter of interest; measure the size of the components on the board with a vernier and see if they match. Edited January 12, 20242 yr by TheMac
