How to value an installation in order to sell it
Good day I have a Sunsynk 5k and a Greenrich 5k (UP5000) installed in a house I am renting. I purchased them in January 2023 and installed them a few weeks later. There are no solar panels and the system is purely a UPS system. How do I determine a value for them in order for the landlord to buy the system from me so it can stay in the property? The price for them at that time was around R52k. Nowadays you can get the pair for around R29k if on special. Thank you

Charger for 12v 20ah LiFePo4 battery
@TaliaB @Scorp007 I had a look at the 5A and it is good for my budget. Thank you for the advice.

Charger for 12v 20ah LiFePo4 battery
I was looking at this table from their datasheet and was wondering about what you said. Should I rather stick to the provided table specs or can I safely buy a larger charger (in amps) to charge my 20ah LiFePo4 battery even though for instance the 25A specs recommend minimum 80ah?

Charger for 12v 20ah LiFePo4 battery
May I assume you used it before? I saw reviews of people complaining about the Bluetooth connectivity and app. Is that the case?

Charger for 12v 20ah LiFePo4 battery
Good day I would like to charge a 12v 20ah LiFePo4 battery and is looking for an appropriate charger. Do you have any suggestions on a specific charger I should consider and perhaps where to buy it? How are the Victron Blue IP65 chargers? I read that they need to be charged at around 14v+. Is that correct? I believe that the Amp/Hour rating of the battery determines the charger rating. For example a 5 to 7A charger will be fine for this battery but a 20A charger will not work correctly. Am I correct?

Some beeping then battery restarts
It did not favour a specific time. Night or day. (I don't have panels on. It is just a UPS) Just the other day it happened during the day and I was close to it and tried to see something on the Sunsynk. I saw the following (not my photo) for a few seconds only while the battery seemed to be starting up. So obviously the inverter cannot communicate with the battery during that time. The biggest question would be whether the inverter is causing this "re-start" or is it the battery that is just restarting. As I was typing this I was wondering if I should consider replacing the comms cable between the battery and inverter.

Does this sound carry through to your recording studio?

Nation wide power outage
Long ago there was an advert for either Band-Aid or Elastoplast with a kid removing his plaster and asking "Where my cut go?". I suspect they will be asking "Where my electricity go?"

Nation wide power outage
I assume this would mean France and Morocco had to be synchronized in frequency. If so, how? Is France and Morocco connected by themselves? Or it this more a case of France helping one side of Spain to get up and then Morocco another side and once up they could synchronize the two sides in Spain after disconnecting from France and/or Morocco?

Nation wide power outage
There are so many fascinating lessons to be learned here just from an educational perspective alone. I just hope the real reason for their blackout comes to the fore. A national grid is such a delicate system and the cascading affects caused by a bad player, be it weather or failing equipment or mismanagement can be a wonderful teacher... if the student is willing to listen of course. I am keeping an eye on this news event with childlike excitement to learn as much as I can. Its not everyday that such a major grid event happens. In a traditional system where you have large generating units (coal, nuclear) you have the ability to absorb frequency fluctutations caused by a large load increase/decrease and adjust accordingly. It works with the assumption that you have enough of those large units to do that. I just wonder; if you remove those and you have all these smaller generating units (so-called green) then how is that achieved.

AI and PowerForum
Indeed. And the way you use it conforms nicely to my earlier point.... You already know what to look for and you are able to pick up on any errors or false statements of the AI. You use it to save you some time but not to solve your issues or ignorance for you. I bet you always go over what the AI gave you just to make sure its correct.

AI and PowerForum
😁 A disclaimer is not necessary if you don't use AI to answer questions 😉 Anyways.... AI generated content seems obviously to be out-of-place amongst normal conversation so I think everyone will already know you used it. As long as you add a little genuine Welkom charm in there as well. 😄

AI and PowerForum
I am part of a programmer online discussion forum and this trend has been discussed at length on there. It basically comes down to this; The people who can afford to use AI usually don't and those that cannot afford to, do. The uninformed are usually quick to run to AI, unaware that there are many false statements coming from it. They will never learn the real facts. I have been in the computer world far too long to fall for this fad. I treasure experience and great insight coming from an "ou ballie" more. 😄 Fortunately there are many greatly experienced guys on this forum that have already proven their chops. They are well known by us that frequent this forum. I hope such user accounts get removed.
