    @TaliaB @Scorp007

I had a look at the 5A and it is good for my budget.

    Thank you for the advice.

I own three Victron Blue Smart 12V 25A chargers, and I can honestly say they’re the best chargers I’ve ever used. They handle everything from small 12V 8Ah lead-acid batteries up to 150Ah without any risk of overcharging. The chargers automatically adjust based on the battery’s internal resistance, so the charging process is always safe and accurate.
I mainly use two of them to maintain my Willard 12V 120Ah (734CCA) truck battery, and they’ve been flawless. The separate charging profiles for LiFePO4 and lead-acid work exactly as expected. My oldest unit is now six years old and still performs like new.
I’ve also never had a single issue with the Bluetooth app connection is stable, settings are easy to adjust, and the monitoring is excellent. The built-in reverse polarity and short-circuit protection actually work as advertised, without causing any damage to the charger.
As @Scorp007 mentioned, it’s a very handy charger, and you really don’t need any external test equipment the charger gives you all the data you need.
A few screenshots of the Bluetooth app below.

Yes I have used the smart units on a MPPT and the APP is basically the same. You get the graphs, capacity, can change any setting all via the APP via Bluetooth. It's really so good not having to hook up multimeters to get the readings.
This is is the go to method used by most mobile installs of PV and charging Lithiums. I have never heard of anyone having a problem around the remote functions. Costly but worth it.
Great to have one APP and talk to most Victron gadgets.

Yes the Victron is a good charger and the smart comes with handy Bluetooth to see all the stats remotely.

Long ago there was an advert for either Band-Aid or Elastoplast with a kid removing his plaster and asking "Where my cut go?". I suspect they will be asking "Where my electricity go?"

Failure rate could also include all those that have problems due to wrong settings. We just have to see how many questions are asked where CT that is well spelled out is connected the wrong way round. Documentation is sometimes to be blamed.

Indeed. And the way you use it conforms nicely to my earlier point.... You already know what to look for and you are able to pick up on any errors or false statements of the AI. You use it to save you some time but not to solve your issues or ignorance for you. I bet you always go over what the AI gave you just to make sure its correct.

I use Ai extensively (mostly Grok as it's great with coding) to speed up mobile app development, massive time-saver.
There are good and bad use cases for Ai, you see all the dodgy folk (Politicians included) that think Ai will make them "clever" they are sooooo wrong 🤣 coz they don't realise you need at least a few decent braincells to use Ai correctly and effectively.

A disclaimer is not necessary if you don't use AI to answer questions 😉
Anyways.... AI generated content seems obviously to be out-of-place amongst normal conversation so I think everyone will already know you used it. As long as you add a little genuine Welkom charm in there as well. 😄

I am part of a programmer online discussion forum and this trend has been discussed at length on there. It basically comes down to this; The people who can afford to use AI usually don't and those that cannot afford to, do.
The uninformed are usually quick to run to AI, unaware that there are many false statements coming from it. They will never learn the real facts.
I have been in the computer world far too long to fall for this fad. I treasure experience and great insight coming from an "ou ballie" more. 😄 Fortunately there are many greatly experienced guys on this forum that have already proven their chops. They are well known by us that frequent this forum.
I hope such user accounts get removed.

Wow, your load is exceptionally low.
I had a Growatt 5kW inverter, and their settings are very sensitive if the firmware is not up to date – get the person who installed the system for you to update it.

On a decent transformer, probably less than 4% at full power, but it would be an expensive affair, transformer to be mounted indoors, I'd say, or in a box, just outside the wall, where the DB is located... cooling is an issue, even with an oil cooled unit this could present problems...
Maybe another approach would be one of having a field mill or two on your property, this should give you a a fair indication of an imminent near or direct lightning strike, this in turn could be used to drop a contactor or two which disconnect from the commercial power side etc. for 30 seconds or a minute, until the field mill readings indicate things are ok again, this however in a thunderstorm, could disconnect from the commercial power side a few times during the storm, assuming of course the lightning discharges are fairly close to your field mills locations... I am still considering setting up such a solution here, would be pretty unique, I think and done right could prevent nearby strikes causing any induced power problems...

I think it's worth doing, but if lightning decides it wants to invade your house, the tiny gap from your breaker is unlikely to stop it. The best you can hope for is that most of its fury has found a path to earth somewhere else, so that there are "only" under a kilovolt at the utility cables, which the breaker can withstand.

Good evening all after being out of action due to above medical reasons. I will keep this short so we can concentrate on solar matters.
It was close for me leaving this life. I am thankful for world class physician and surgeons in the C care Welkin hospital in Moka. Special thanks to my wife that endured the long waits at the hospital.
Just a brief summary as to what got me in hospital.
I was originally admitted for hypoxemia where my blood oxygen saturation was below 82%.with 3 blood clots in the lungs.
I was diagnosed (Laboratoire Cerba) in Paris with a clotting disorder called thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS), and it is rare—an updated safety analysis showed that, as of March 19 out of more than 2.2 million people who got J&J,Vaccines 294 cases of TTS were reported and thirty people died due to clots in the lungs. I am currently on Rivaroxaban (Anticoagulants) under the brand name Xarelto.
I will be home soon to rest for a while before getting into my daily routine.
Many many thanks for all you guys that rallied your support around me in my diffucult time it is highly appreciated.
Forgive me if any above is written a bit bonkers i am still very queasy from the op and all the medications that is now finding their way out the body.
    Have a good evening.
