January 24, 20242 yr The video doesn't mention a single reason why isolators can cause fires, or did I miss something? Surely a properly specc'ed and installed PV isolator is a perfectly fine thing to have, especially if your inverter doesn't have a built-in isolator?

Very vague and yes no reasons other than to change your inverter to one with a switch. Since when does a MPPT control the voltage from the panels as per this video.
