February 11, 20242 yr Hi all, I have a Deye 5kW inverter and I'm looking to get the minimum amount of panels in order for the MPPT to function. From the inverter datasheet the startup voltage is stated as 150V. I'm looking at the Canadian 455 panels: https://www.voltex.co.za/product/canadian-solar-panel-455w/ From what I could see the operating voltage on these panels are around 40V. Would 4 of these panels be sufficient to keep the MPPT on? I am mainly looking for enough power to charge a single 5kw battery during the day. Thanks

Thanks 4 is on the edge and in bad weather might not always start. You can try but be prepared to add a 5th panel. Using JA solar panels might gain you a few volts.
