I have about r90000-00 to invest in a solar system. What should i be looking at ?any recommended installer in Rustenburg ? Do i go for a victron inverter or will the axpert units do ? All advice will be greatly appreciated ! Have a good night Morne
Jaco De Jongh
Hi Morras. Welcome here. First things first. I think you have to determine what exactly it is you want to run from solar should Eskom fail. R90K will in most cases not take a normal household off the grid Once you decide, please share your plan with us, and I am sure we will be able to give more accurate advice. As to your question about Victron Vs Axpert. My opinion is definitely Victron.
Morras
Morning Jaco A little more info : daily usage on prepaid is about 30 units....i have a gas stove top installes already.would love to convert geyser to solar also but i am scared that i dont have enough space on the roof for that and enough pv pannels for a system. My aim is to start with a system that will immediatly lets me use less eskom power and also gives me a good couple of hours worth of backup when the power fails or eskom load sheds. daily load excluding things like geyser , washing machine and dishwaser should not exeed 1700 watt.i was thinking of either a 3 of 5 kw victron inverter(multipluss) , some lithium batterys and either 6 or 9 300 watt pannels to start with , hopefully that will be in my budget ? any decent installers and retailers in the Rustenburg area ? thabks in advance for al, the help. This should fit into your budget if you buy from the correct supplies. 23 minutes ago, Morras said: any decent installers and retailers in the Rustenburg area ? I dont know installers in that area.. will send you details of retailers in a PM. Maybe someone on the forum will know installers in your area.
