Prepaid meter error 30 after installing solar

Featured Replies

Good day

I have a Cash power prepaid meter. Definitely more than 10y old meter.

After installing my solar system - Luxpower sna5000 with panel and battery - my prepaid meter has been on error 30.

As my inverter has no feed in ability and I live in East Rand - no feeding in ability is available on inverter or municipality.

How can I resolve this issue?

I understand this is a connection / communication error.

Although you might have set the inverter not to feed in this inverter CAN feed in. Look at the start of your setting in the manual.

1st is to confirm that it did not try to feed in causing the error. Ensure it is in off grid mode.

It might not have a CT but the latest models new stock and firmware might already support a CT.

Your meter plugged into a “backed up” outlet or a “non-backed up” ?

Most of these customer units will communicate with the meter at street level via PLC - Power Line Communication and must be a “straight” comms between the meters to communicate successfully.

So if the meter is plugged into an outlet that is backed up and runs through the inverter its breaks that PLC between the devices. Try plugging the meter into an outlet that is not backed up via the inverter and see if that restores the communication?
