Infini V IV - Not parallel capable

I all, I recently purchased 2 Infini V IV inverters with the idea to connect them in parallel. (Branded and sold by MCE Electric).
They did not ship with parallel kits, but I have 2 card sets spare and would like to use these.

The catch is - On the side of the inverter there is a sticker that says "IS NOT CAPABLE OF PARALLEL CONNECTION"

Is anyone aware of batches that cannot be paralleled? All the settings are available under option 28

Any help will be appreciated

NONE of the VM series (VM  II, VM III, VM IV, any VP models) can be paralleled. [ Edit: Oops! But you mentioned Infini V; see below. ]

They use a smaller DSP chip that doesn't have room for the paralleling logic. It's one of the compromises for the lower priced models (V possibly stands for Value).

The similar looking MKS IV models have the larger chip, and are capable of paralleling.

Thanks for the feedback Coulomb,

This specific model is the Infinisolar V IV-5600. My understanding is that this unit can be paralleled as per the Voltronic documentation.
https://voltronicpower.com/en-US/Product/Detail/InfiniSolar-V-4-3.6KW-5.6KW-6KW

It's got the cable connections for the parallel board and there is a blank PCB mounted currently. Does the VM models also have the PAL option etc under setting 28?

I really hope these units were just shipped without the parallel card and that I can fit the cards and configure them.

Arrgh! My mistake. I was thinking Axpert models. These Infini V models seem to use similar, possibly almost identical hardware to the Axperts, different to the hardware of the other Infini models. I would have thought that these would also be non-parallelable, but as you say, Voltronic says that they are parallelable.

It seems extremely likely, given the blank PCB in the parallel board position, that a parallel board is meant to go there.

Maybe the Infinis use a different paralleling board to the Axperts, though that seems silly.

The sticker might have been saying that no parallel board is installed, not that no parallel board could ever be installed.

No.

Technically, some of the VM models share firmware with other models that do have setting 28, so the code is there, but when all is working properly, the firmware should recognise that it's communicating with a VM model, and skip setting 28.

I bit the bullet and installed the parallel cards. Managed to get the inverters to sync and work in parallel mode so I assume the sticker was there as a precaution not to parallel them without the boards. They work well when using the "user" setting for battery type. I will now try to get the inverter to talk to my Pace BMS.
