Posted March 13, 20196 yr Good Morning I am a new member, but old stalker of this forum. I am in the Randburg area, and I am interested in converting my lights and entertainment unit into an permanent off grid solution with room for expansion as funds become available I have been researching solar offerings with Lithium Batteries for almost 3 years now, and finally the Blue Nova or PylonTech seems to fit my budget. I am still a bit indecisive about the TYPE of Inverter, but size wise I am look at 4000VA to 5000VA 48V varieties with built in Chargers (Mainly due to the expansion future planning mentioned above) I have about 50% roof space that is North Facing, thus no issues to fit 20 panels on there. So, I will be in the Inverter section mostly to weigh my options. As mentioned above, I am not looking to feed back into the grid, purely off grid or Hybrid. Thanks for having me...
March 13, 20196 yr Welcome! I am also looking at the PylonTechs. Whats the best price you found for them?
March 18, 20196 yr Author Hi, apologies for the late reply. Cheapest I found was R19 450k for the US3000 https://www.inverter-warehouse.co.za/products/pylon-tech-lithium-ion-3-5kw-us3000b-battery I also asked Sinetech for a quotation, but they seem a bit excessive with pricing. They also do not promote PylonTech or Blue Nova. Only stock Victron and Freedomwon Lithium I also require some assistance. I have a KStar 1000VA UPS on my fish tank. It came with 2 x 7Ah Sealed batteries in 24v config. I would like to add 2 of the same batteries to this 24v config. What is the best way to wire them? Example 1 or 2? Example 1 Example 2
March 18, 20196 yr Like this. Disconnect where I sliced with the green line, then connect it to the other side, with the grey line. Now the two paralleling links cancel each other out. In your original, the top string will always work a bit harder, cause it is "closer" to the charger, in terms of total length of cable. Edited March 18, 20196 yr by plonkster
