I'm slowly getting stuff together to do a solar installation and getting a 36 way din DB box and 100m of 2,5mm Surfix from a friend at no cost 🙂

My question - the current  house DB  is in the passage but I definately do not want to fit the new DB box there.

Can I install the new DB in the old garage (aka storage room) and thereby have two DB's at the same time?

When installed my initial setup will only be used to run lights in the house.

We have 2 DB's. One running off the other.

I just wish I could make all the existing circuits' wiring "appear" in the other db board close to the inverter 🙂

The only place to install an inverter is unfortunately too far away, and I'll have to expand the existing board by putting a surface mounted board over the existing hole in the wall.

I was there, till I was not.

At the time I installed a 10mm2 AC cable from the inverter to the DB, which was over 10m from the inverter.

Yes, you can have multiple sub DB's. They just need to be labeled properly. Run at least a 10mm cable between the two, incase you want to expand in future.
