  2. Then I do not know 🙂 I still have overload warnings at night, with low load - suspect this is due to a long cable to the inverter. Similar to this: https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/35581/constant-overload-warnings-on-multiplus-using-ess.html
  3. @PaBz0r - do you have the South African grid code applied, and how long is the cable between inverter and distribution board?
  4. Including grinding the tile if you need to etc.? Sorry, forgot to ask.
  5. How much more work is it to install roof hooks compared to using the straps, out of curiosity? Trying ot understand why you'd use the correct rail, but not the hooks.

  8. @plonkster - that is what I thought as well. Unfortunately only noticed this afterwards <sigh>
  9. I had 4x 405w panels installed on a tile roof (see below for what roof looks like). The installer did not use tile hooks to attach the rails to the roof, but rather some kind of galvanized steel strap. As far as I can see the strap goes under the tiles and is attached to the rails with screws. The result of this is that the rail lies on the tile roof, but you can move the installation up and down because of the use of strapping instead of tile hooks. Is this a common way to install the rails?

  11. I am using 8 "old" UPS batteries as well, and will give some feedback tomorrow.
  12. If you take 9 months to get something like that approved - how many people will actually follow this process?!
  13. Who can wait 5 months just to get permission to install? What was the supplemental contract about?

  17. Out of curiousity... the 25 % rule is for the breaker connecting your property to the grid? In a complex, we have a 600A breaker - so I can merrily have 33 kilowatt of generation going on here?
  18. I was running 465, but I did have to reset the multi to get it out of the "overload" condition - so probably lost the status message there. I however did *not* have the correct grid code set; it was set to "other", so I have changed that to South Africa. I am wondering if the "loss of mains" detection could have gone wrong with it being set to "other" grid code?
  19. Unfortunately I have nothing in the "error 11 report" area on the gx device. Also, my Multiplus II has been running happily since October 2019, and this is the first time it had done that. Would a neutral on the wrong bar suddenly start doing this out of the blue?
  20. @Crankshaft - do you have the grid code set to South Africa under the grid settings of the inverter?
  21. I then reset the Multiplus II, using the remote console, and got a ground relay error after that 🙄 This is all very comforting.
  22. @Crankshaft - YES!!! It happened to me this morning as well, much to my very unhappy surprise. At the time - it was 6:00 in the morning - there was very little load on the system; about 250 watt maximum. I am running a MultiPlus-II 48/3000/35-32, on firmware 2628465. It is also running in UPS mode - no solar panels yet.
  23. Setting it to float does look as if the batteries charge a bit better - and it got almost back to the same state of charge as before the load ejection. Storage mode would be great if it worked as advertised - but only after say 24 hours, and then it must go out of storage into float immediately after any inverting.
  24. I adjusted the float voltage upwards a bit, as an experiment to see if this will make it go into bulk earlier. After doing that the charger went into absorption mode for a while - and guess what - it just skips float and goes into storage. This is buggy, or some very strange behaviour.
  25. @plonkster Allegedly 5.2 volts: https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/175/how-do-quattro-and-multiplus-decide-to-switch-from.html?childToView=372#answer-372 I still don't understand why it sticks around in storage mode - it does not do what the manual says 🙂 E.g. it *definitely* does not stay in float for 24 hours before it goes to storage - it almost immediately jumps from float into storage. Eh - where is the source code for this 😆
