November 6, 20241 yr A lot of writing has been done about low voltage cut outs. First we have to distinguish between programmed operational DoD and the low voltage protection. The first is programmed by settings in the inverter, i.e. the "back to grid bypass", the 2nd is a setting in the BMS as well as in the inverter. This 2nd limit may only be reached when the inverter could not bypass because of grid blackout. With the "back to grid bypass" setting you determine how low you want to exploit the paid for capacity of your battery. Its a life cycle issue. LEOCH guarantee claims 3500 cycles at 100% DoD. That's almost 10 years at one 100% cycle per day. With less DoD programmed you extend life cycle. The other issue is the low voltage cutout. LEOCH specs claims it at 40.5V, in the latest manual at 41V. This puzzled me so I looked into the BMS settings. Here they are: In the top right field I found UV alarm: 42V, UV protect: 37.5V. That means the BMS will only cut out at 37.5V. I set my inverter low voltage cutout at 42V. This way I can use the batteries paid for capacity in case of emergency. It has happened a few times when I did not pay attention to load shedding. As soon as the power came back the inverters restarted in bypass mode and recharged the batteries.
