It's a difficult situation when a supplier expects you to pay return postage on a defective item and threaten you with other costs! Batteries are especially hard for Jo public to send back. Pylontech do seem pretty good when a battery is actually faulty. Their have been cases on here where the supplier has refused a warranty but then when it's been escalated by the user to Pylontech themselves they have instructed a replacement.
November 17, 20241 yr My opinion is, if its going to cost a lot to send back, and there is a high risk ( because of the firmware version) its going to be refused and costs to send back again and its still faulty, could be easier to sell it as new but faulty, take the hit and buy a new one. it does seem a genuine fault from new, but with the things that has been done since it could be very doubtful its going to be worthwhile perusing it edit :- at least a new one would match the firmware versions the others have (3.0) Edited November 17, 20241 yr by andrew96a

Personally I would have pursued that and escalated to pylontech before changing anything. You may well be surprised how good pylontech are, hopefully.
November 25, 20241 yr Author Just wanted to update about the case - pylontech has quite quickly instructed effekta to arrange a pickup for the battery. Battery is arriving today or tomorrow. I did not receive any instructions or firmware I can share.

December 7, 20241 yr Author Good news to this topic… Effekta did, as instructed by pylontech support. Did a warranty repair. Root Cause: Current Sensor broken on the board…. So fuses were intact. A classical DOA Device, slipped QA somehow….
