Max of 7000 W generated from 14 x 455w panels on 5kw sunsynk inverter?

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Sometimes I get over 5000W from 8 x 455W panels on 1 array. I am thinking if I have another 6 x 455W panels facing east on the other array, I could get a max of 7000 W being generated from 14 x 455w panels... Is this too much on 5kw sunsynk inverter and might damage something ?   Perhaps instead of 6 new 455W panels I could then go with 5  new 455W east facing panels on the other array ?

Thanks

The max DC you can generate from a single 5kw is approx 6500w - so this is the most that the inverter will put out. Having more will benefit you in winter though, e.g. in winter you might only be producing 3000 out of your current 5000 but if you over panel you might be able to push that up. Just always keep in mind your open cycle voltage (VOC)
