Posted February 19Feb 19 I don't have access to a Windows machine and would greatly appreciate if anyone can help me and guide me on how to install pmbs tools within a Windows partition on a Mac. Am running VWMare Fusion Professional Version 8.5.10 (7527438) with Windows 7. Need to be able to get Freedom Won Techs to see issues with eTower 5kw battery going into fault mode when charging and then not charging or receiving a charge. When I try to run the *exe file I get an error message as per screenshot attached. Edited February 19Feb 19 by Moffat Added screenshot

Removing Accelerated 3-D Graphics and File Sharing worked. My only challenge now is am getting Com1 failure. Edited February 20Feb 20 by Moffat Added screenshot

The comm port is able to read USB drive. Not sure which software needs to be updated. eTower 5kw is in fault mode, maybe that could be why there's no comms. That aside, many many thanks for the help in getting the pmbsTools to run on my windows VMWare partition. Edited February 20Feb 20 by Moffat

What you can try is to reset/clear that comport - https://soldered.com/learn/how-to-clear-or-reset-com-ports/

Still no joy. I guess my only questions are: 1. with battery in fault mode will port on battery connect? 2. Do I need to remove CAN coms cable on battery during this operation?

Thanks... Just realised I had an error on Com3 and then did an update of the windows drivers and pmbsTools was able to connect to the battery and I am able to use my Mac within VMWare Tools to get data. There was also no need to remove the CAN cable. Many many thanks for your patience and assistance. This has been a great help. Now I know how to sort myself as well as others in the same predicament and I won't have to resort to using a Windows machine only.😂👏
