March 28, 20197 yr Ok, to quickly wrap my head around a small system If I connect a 100Ah AGM (12V) to a 12V 20A MPPT and a 300w Inverter and to a 330W panel with the following specs : MPPT Specs Will I be able to run all my lights (less than 100W) per day off of this system if the I use less than 30A (DOD 30%) over a 24 hour period? Roughly how long will it take the 330W panel to recharge the battery during the day (Assuming full output from the panel) At 8.88A, I assume 3.5 hours? Will I be able to use load (Switch on lights), while the battery is charging? Apologies for the simple example, but some explanation will be appreciated.
March 28, 20197 yr Multiply the panel W x about 5 to get to kWh per day produced, so you will get about 1.5kWh out of the panel. Work out how many Kwh your lights will draw over that period, and a apply a fudge factor for charging efficiency and you should get your answer.
March 28, 20197 yr 50Ah x 12V = about 600Wh @ 50% DOD so the panel is oversized for the the battery, or the battery is undersized for the panel. You will be able to run your lights (100W) for about 6 hours until the battery is down to 50%. You probably need a bigger battery would be my assessment.
