Hi,

Wondering if anyone else is having the same issue with their Sunsynk inverter having terrible time drift when using Solar-Assistant?

Essentially what happens is over a period of a few months the Sunsynk inverters time slowly drifts and then has to be manually updated. The time drift starts to have an impact on the time of use settings.

On Solar-Assistsnt itself the time is web synchronized and is able to keep perfect time.

I've made a suggestion to Solar-Assistsnt themselves a little while back but it doesn't seem like it's on their backlog.

Has anyone been able to find a way to update the inverter time automatically using the web synchronized time from Solar-Assistsnt?

In the app - > inverter settings - > "basic settings" , there's an option for 'time syncs'. Try enabling it

In your first line are you saying that if you don't use solar assistant the time is correct, but gets delayed only when using solar assistant? That's strange.

No issues with time here, the inverters times are correct and synced as per the setting.

I'm referring to Solar-Assistsnt specifically, not the default Sunsynk app. Is that what you are referring to?

Ah ok. With the Sunsynk dongle the inverter will synchronise it's time. And one can run both Sunsynk dongle and solar assistant simultaneously.

That is the experience I had when using the old solarman dongle. Time would be synchronized online. My inverter is pre Sunsynk dongle.

Out of curiosity how do you run both the Sunsynk dongle and Solar-Assistant as they would both need the rs232 port? Or does the newer Sunsynk dongle run on a different port on the inverter?

Use the solar assistant on RS485, and the Sunsynk/Deye dongle where it's default is on the rs232 port.

I would prefer to get this to work with Solar-Assistsnt alone and not have to use another dongle. I moved away from solarman dongle for various reasons.
