March 30, 20197 yr Newbie query - Grid tied and hybrid are easy to understand but I am still not clear on how those with off grid systems actually make use of their solar. Off grid systems don't involve one in red tape and costs. For those of us who don't want to feed into the grid what are the legal alternatives. I would like to be able to feed solar into the house without having to gain an engineers expensive approval. Can one disconnect Escom entirely at the board and just use solar and batteries?
March 30, 20197 yr I was off-grid for many years. Go grid tied if you can as it has the biggest savings potential. Red tape is here to stay, off-grid is there to rip a hole in your pocket. 🙂 Edited March 30, 20197 yr by Guest
