Sunsynk battery connection

Featured Replies

Hi im looking to install a Sunsynk solar system but i have a few questions, the system im looking to install will consists off

3x 8KW Sunsynk Inverter

4x 10kw Sunsynk Batteries

48x 590w solar panels (8x panels per input of inverter, 16x panels per inverter)

There is no Eskom at the place of this installation so this system will be fully offgrid

My first question is with the DC Cabling of the batteries according to the manual they want me to install a fused isolator on each battery between the inverter and the DC busbar then again install another 3 fused isolators between the DC busbars and Each inverter, thats 7x fused isolators on my system it seems excessive, and as for cable sizing what would be the correct cable size to use and will all dc cables be the same size or will there be a differance between the cable size from the battery to busbar and the cable size from busbar to inverter

The cable needs to be sized according to the power/amps you will be pulling at the worst case scenario, towards the busbar. If money isn't an option, and safety is the main concern, use the same sized towards the battery. This will account for times where batteries are taken out of the group for maintenance/service etc.

As for isolators, I have one on each battery. For the same reason as above.

Out of curiosity, what is the peak draw? And average consumption?

Edit:

50mm cabling per battery (200a)

70mm per inverter
