Voltronic MAX E 11Kw Twin - Charging Current

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Apologies if this has been answered before but i did a search of the forum and could not find an answer.

I have a Voltronic MAX E 11Kw Twin and am experiencing an issue with the charging current when Solar is available and Generator is running. I have the max Charge Set at 150A with max AC of 100A

The system is for a small outbuilding and for running some pumps that switch off an on through the day and night. With the pumps off I am pulling only 100w from the inverter and this seems to limit the charging of the batteries to around 14A. If I switch one of the pumps on ( Bringing load upto 800w) the charge current ramps up to near max on the inverter.

That's the latest firmware I have in the 78.xx range.

Does the reported battery voltage change when the pumps come on? I'm wondering if the battery is nearly full, and the start-up surge of the motor draws a little energy from the battery, "making room" for higher charge current, at last for a short time. As I type this, it seems unlikely.

78.08 is from June 2024; perhaps you could ask your reseller for a firmware update, if there is one? Sadly, this also seems unlikely, both to exist and if it did, to fix the issue.
