If a home backup battery driven power inverter is installed, does it become a requirement to issue a coc for just the addition of the backup system or the whole residential electrical. What happens if latent and patent defects arise as a result of the backup power system installation.

Yes you need a COC.

 

What do you mean by "What happens if latent and patent defects arise as a result of the backup power system installation." Are the problems as a result of the wiring / isolator / etc, or is it a product defect?
