Inverter Down

Featured Replies

As I browse Powerforum and read more on inverters and solar power the subject becomes more daunting, but we will prevail.

As I will use Eskom to augment where solar is not enough (using the inverter) what happens when the inverter fails?

That is when the inverter must be bypassed, and all power must come from Eskom.

Will the proposed setup shown in the attached figure work using a Finder 66.82.8.230.0000 General Purpose Relay

I'd rather use a contactor, truth be told. The relay appears to be suitably rated, but a contactor can sit on a DIN rail inside your DB and is probably just a little bit less hacky 😉

As I have said before each question just leads to more questions

Have been trying to find a contactor to use and the result is on google " Viewing 61 - 80 of 4555 products"

Any suggestions what contactor (ac switching)  specifficaly to look for?

The proper way to do it is with two contactors. I explain how to do that here, mostly by pointing to other sources.

Alterntively, look for a 2NO/2NC 4-pole contactor, eg this, then wire to contacts together to turn it into a DPDT configuration.
