May 12, 20197 yr I'm thinking of installing a kwikot 300L EV tube thermosyphon as a pre feed to my current 150 L electric geyser. I hope to measure temperatures on both tanks at around 15:00 and if water in the solar is +5 deg over the electric I will circulate the hotter water into the electric geyser using a circulation pump . I will then allow the electric geyser element to turn on at 15:30 should the water still be below 60 deg . Thoughts ?
May 13, 20197 yr Another option is to run water through 40 mm pipe with U - connector and then supply geyser with warm water and use a small 650 w or 1kw element to topup to 60 degrees. Just require proper insulation on geyser

May 16, 20197 yr You build a solar heater with 40mm class 3 PVC pipe cut to e.g. 1m and plastic U-joints joining them. Inlet accepting coldwater and outlet feeding the inlet of your geyser you preheat the water before it inter the geyser reducing the enercy required to heat the water, like solar panels for a swimming pool.
