Cable to use PV

Featured Replies

Hi

I wanted to ask, I am setting up a micro inverter connected to 4x 330w panels, I wanted to ask if I can use 2.5mm cabtyre cable from the output of the micro inverter (AC) to an isolator switch, then onto a circuit breaker in the DB board. I am planning on putting this in conduit from the panels on the roof down on to the wall with an isoltor switch mounter under the eves (protected from the rain. The 4 panels currently will produce 1200w max at about 5.45 amps, I want to be able to connect 3 of these at some stage so looking at 3600w at about 16.5 amps total.

Is it okay to use cabtyre cable on the roof in conduit or should I be using solar cable (remember this is AC not DC on the cable)

Thanks All
