DeepBass9
So I ordered 2x 300W panels from takelot which they have just delivered. What I got was two 330W panels instead. The existing panels are 300W enersol, Voc 45.4, Vmp 36.9. The once I have just received are Sosol 330W VOc 46.89, Vmp 38.7. I want to make this up in 2 strings of 3. Will it case any problems if I use these panels together. They are actually identically sized (which is curious).
Solarphile
Considering that your panels are within the 10% tolerance, I would say go for it. What I would do to try balance everything out is connect two 300w and one 330w in series. Then parallel the two strings of three. They should (hopefully) perform at 300w each. This is my personal opinion so don’t take it as law. I also ended up with a similar problem. The panels I first bought are no longer available. So I sat with two options. Either buy the closest possible panels which happen to be 325w. Or, buy another MPPT, which is just not an option right now. I ordered the 325w as there is only a 8.3% difference. DeepBass9
I also think that it shouldn't be a problem. Particularly as the panels have identical physical size, the claimed 330W may be a bit on the optimistic side.
Solarphile
In my case the physical dimensions of the new panels are the same as my old ones (according to the spec sheet) and off the very same production line. The reason they gave me for the higher output is that the solar cells they are using are newer and more efficient than the ones used in the old panels. So there might be some truth in the power output claim....
DeepBass9
I'm going to install them at the weekend, so I'll see how they do. The mixed array is on its own MPPT. What's the worse that can happen? ***House burns down*** Solarphile
