xinath
Hi Please can i get advise. I installed 12 x 330w panels on my roof and subsequently found that partial shading occurs by 4pm in winter and now I would like to have the panels moved totally out of the shade and have an additional 6 more panels added. What would be reasonable "re-installation" costs? Either per day or per job?
Guest
Having been through something remotely similar after having install 6 panels (3S/2P) and then getting 4 more and altering the array to 2S/5P, the labour cost per day is about +-R 2 300. With the guys being here about on average 6 hours per day, sometimes two, other times just one person, it works out to about R383.00 per hour, which is quite acceptable to me. Off course that excl any and all parts.

In Jhb installers ask up R8500 per day on a complete installation and it normally takes a day for a residential installation. I guess its best to talk to one of them and negotiate a price. Pm me if you are in JHB PTA area and I will send you the contact details of the installer I use to do my installations in that area.

Depending on what mounting rails and brackets were used, it can take anything from 4 to 8 hours. I have moved 12 on my own roof , took them off and moved them to a new position a few weekends back in under 2 hours with the help of 2 guys. the brackets were in place already so i didn't need to relocate the brackets as well, saving a couple of hours in my opinion. My installer in Jhb has a team of 6 guys, I guess it will be quick.
