February 13, 20206 yr Hi, I am trying to figure out what cable is required and what the process is to upgrade the firmware on my inverter. I only have the USB printer type port on my inverter. (see image below) I currently use this port for monitoring using an USB AB cable. I have read thru some forums and determined that the requirement is a rj45 to serial converter. (It was stated that one can not use the computers usb port to upgrade the firmware. Must be the rj45 port) But how do I then convert from rj45 to serial to usb AB? In these cases, the update tool is a different one that goes looking for a USB connection. 19 hours ago, TimNiekerk said: But how do I then convert from rj45 to serial to usb AB? You don't. In your case, you won't be using RS-232, except via a virtual serial port over USB. So just use the provided USB-B to USB-A cable, or if you can't find it, any "printer" type USB cable should work.
February 14, 20206 yr Author Thanks Coulomb, Appreciate your assistance as always. Any idea where I can obtain the firmware and tool for the Axpert Mks-3K-24 Plus model? Regards, Tim
