Infinisolar super 4kw Bricked

Just a Question i just bricked my infinisolar super 4kw any help?

I assume that this is following a firmware update.

Did you simply restart the inverter (disconnect all power sources then reconnect battery) and try again? Ignore the fact that the inverter seems totally unresponsive; the bootstrap loader should be running, listening to the comms port for a flash update command.

If after several tries of this with no luck, check that your USB to serial adapter (if used) is a known good one (ones with the PL-2303 chip seem good).

If still no good, you'll likely need to buy or get warranty replaced your control board. You'll need to obtain that from your supplier; provide a photo of the label on the side of your inverter to save time.

That doesn't sounds good; it sounds like the processor is crashed big time, so there may be little chance of a flash upload working.

Good luck with it.

Do you see any activity on the comm port, transmitted from the inverter? But I suspect that as you are talking to only the bootloader, it will only be waiting for a command, not sending anything.

Hi Coulomb, i do not get anything.

By my reading, you should be getting "YSJ" followed by a carriage return several times per second. This will probably be at 2400 bps or 9600 bps. More likely 9600 bps.

It will ignore anything you send other than 'S', 'A', or ':'. I don't recommend attempting to send anything.

If you've convinced yourself that it's definitely not sending anything (check for data on a DSO or multimeter, in case you've got the wrong bit rate or similar), then you may have lost your boot loader. Flickering of the LC Display hints in that direction.

If so, you have no alternative but to obtain a new control board. I don't know what they are like in Infinis; I know that in the larger ones, it's not just a simple plug-in PCB like in Axperts.
