November 12, 20205 yr Good evening all PowerForum members. Please divert me to the appropriate thread if it has been discussed before. Also pardon if this seems like something obvious I am miss understanding. My question is the following : How does a Victron Quattro or Multiplus supply load to both outputs 1 & 2? Or to put it differently, how does it determine how much power it should send to witch output. Given that both are connected to a load, full sunshine with a DC coupled system. e.g. a Quattro 8kva with 2 x 250/70 mppt’s and 7.2kw solar array. load on Out 1 is for example 2000watt and load on Out 2 is 6000watt With excess/shortfall coming from the grid. Am I missing something obvious or am I overthinking it? Your opinions will be much appreciated.
November 13, 20205 yr Essentially ACOut1 and ACOut2 are connected together when the Grid is available. It will send power out both as much as the Grid and the PV can supply. When the Grid fails it will disconnect ACOut2 and ONLY send power out ACOut1 as much as the Batteries and PV can supply up to the KW rating of the Inverter.

Looking at the schematic of the inverter it makes sense. Thank you, I think you solved my question.
