  1. I have a 6yo Axpert MKS 5kva 48v charge controller/inverter. I recently had the motherboard replaced. I hook up a generator to top up the power on rainy Western Cape days. Prior to the MB replacement, the Axpert would see the genny and charge the battery, along with whatever solar was available. Now when I start the genny, the controller operates as I’m used to for about 3-5 minutes, then, even though it registers AC coming in, it no longer shows the expected display or charges the system. Here are the current settings for the device. Can anyone help?
  2. I checked them out on HelloPeter and spoke directly to them prior to purchase. Their initial price explanation was reasonable. “These are older generation batteries that are being supplanted by the new Hubble/Tesla wall mounts, so we’re selling them off at a discount.” Made sense at the time. I hadn’t found power forum yet, unfortunately. Expensive school fees.
  3. I recently purchased a battery online from SolarBatteryExperts.co.za. The website looked legit, the online price was very attractive. I called the number and spoke with the ‘sales manager’ and my questions about price and quality were answers to my satisfaction. Transferred the money and they shipped the battery. That’s when problems started unfolding. They underpaid the shipping fees. That took days to resolve. Then when I finally was able to collect the battery from the Currier Guy, I got it home, opened the box to discover a rusted, dented battery with a stuck on LCB label. No manual. No connectors. It was obvious that the casing had been resprayed. The BMS system was not functioning, and there wasn’t enough charge in the battery to activate my Axpert 5kva controller. When I finally reached the company, after two days of trying, they gave me a song and a dance about the batteries coming from China and shipping issues and so on. After that they stopped taking my calls, wouldn’t respond to emails and even took the site down for a bit. We contacted our bank, which was able to freeze their account, and have laid fraud charges with the saps. The case has not yet been resolved, but I want to warn others not to do business with this company. I’ve subsequently seen posts on this forum from others who have had similar experiences with this company. So I’m spreading the word hoping to help others to avoid falling into the same trap we did.
