    Axpert Question

Coulomb, Manie and Eugene, Thaks for all your input. It is really appreciated and will be considered. Answer to some of your questions: - This machine was not repaired, the one that failed were replaced with a new machine because it were still under guarantee - I have switch before the inverter that would: 1. Switch all input the inverter off 2. Switch to the solar panels, it should only switch to Eskom power when solar is gone or battery voltage go below setting 12 value. This is the setting that dip and give the 40hz reading. 3. Switch to Eskom power, Eskom power bypass the inverter but both Eskom and solar will charge batteries when available.

    Axpert Question

The inverter give a a5 LINE_FAIL Warning. This happen every time the inverter try to change over to line (Eskom) when the return to line when the setting 12 return to line voltage is reached.

    Axpert Question

I have attach the data file from WatchPower to show the various readings. History_datas.pdf. I measured the battery wire thickness at 10-11mm and I am using AGM batteries. It seems to me that the output frequency is lower than 50hz because motors such as my garage door is running slower, if my thought process is correct. You will see from the data that the mains exist but the unit remain in battery mode, except when I manually bypass the inverter. I do not use a generator. The trouble shooting guide in the user manual indicate that the AC wires may be too thin or too long, I measure its thickness at 6.3mm.
  4. I had a error 9 about a month ago and my inverter had to go back to the supplier for repair. The unit were still new and were replaced.

    Axpert Question

Thanks. I wil ask my installer ta check that as soon as I get hold of him.

    Axpert Question

My firmware version is 72.40. I however notice a further that when my inverter is in LINE mode my input and output voltage is 230v with 50Hv frequency, this is only achieved when the inverter is BYPASSED, but when the inverter is in BATTERY mode my input as wel as output voltage remain at 230V but the frequency go down to 40Hz. This may point to the problem, I don't know. Thanks to everybody suggesting possible causes and corrections. I try all of them.

    Axpert Question

Arandoza, on 25 Jan 2016 - 7:10 PM, said: I am stil sitting with a situation where my inverter starts to "hunt" for Eskom power when it reach the point back to Eskom (utility) - (setting 12) battery voltage. As a last resort I linked the inverter with my laptop with the WatchPower monitoring software that is supplied with the Axpert. The software indicate a LINE_FAIL warning every time the inverter try to switch over to Eskom power. The problem is visible in line and battery mode. Any ideas would help since with my limited knowledge I am at a dead end.

    Axpert Question

Thanks, I have changed to UPS, make a lot of sense. The problem only become visible when my battery voltage approach the point back to Eskom voltage (setting 12). I will test it tonight when I will run my batteries down to the voltage at which it have to change over to Eskom. My load is running only at about 25% and it is not overloading.

    Axpert Question

Thanks, I will test SbU mode to see if it helps. By dipping I mean that when the inverter is suppose to switch to 220V AC (Eskom) the unit switch off and immediately on again, as if it is hunting for Eskom and cannot find it.

    Axpert Question

Another question: I recently had an Axpert 5000VA/4000W inverter installed. When Solar first (program 1) is selected the inverter starts to dip every few seconds when the battery voltage? come down to approx. 49V. It keeps on dipping even after the battery voltage went below 48V, my voltage back setting (program 12) When the inverter is set at Utility first it start to dip virtually from the start and my battery voltage tend to go down. Some of the other settings that may be relevant is: Max charging current = 50A (program 2); Input voltage range = appliance (program 3); Max utility charging current = 30A (program 11) and Charging source priority = Solar and utility (program 16). Could it be that I have utility supply problems to the inverter, supply line to thin or to long
